science The Mary Lou Fulton College of Education, in collaboration with faculty, industry and community partners, is engaged in a three-year National Science Foundation (NSF) funded project to encourage female and underrepresented students to learn about engineering through a variety of extracurricular activities. Students from Powell and Carson Junior High Schools in Mesa will participate in inquiry-based learning through hands-on engineering projects designed to increase their interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Students from Carson and Powell junior high schools, in Mesa, Arizona, are participating in itest. Twenty-four students from each school started the program in Fall 2007 and another group of twenty-four students from each school will start in Fall 2008.
